Darrell Eugene (Skeeter) Reed

Darrell (Skeeter) Reed died peacefully at Altercare of Hartville on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the age of 66, family was always by his side.

Darrell is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha; proud father of Valeri Sue (Chad) and Michelle Renee; grandchildren, Jason, Tyler, Destinee, BreeAnn, Kyle, Kalvin, Shania; brother, Jim; sister, Patricia (Frank); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Ruth; and grandson, Austin.

Darrell was born on Valentine's Day 1950 in Akron, Ohio to Melvin and Ruth Reed. He fell in love with Martha, who knew he was superman and could fly like a plane but he counted on his "Lois Lane" too keep him grounded. Darrell had a love for Superman and Westerns from an early age. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting with family and friends. Like Clark Kent, he split his time as a reporter and a superhero. Darrell spent his time between family and church. A beloved grandfather and friend who leaped tall buildings faster than a speeding bullet for those he loved. He was an active member of The Church on the Boulevard, where he loved being an usher. Darrell couldn't wait until Monday COB Food Pantry to serve the Kenmore Community. He proudly professed his faith in Jesus Christ.

Friends and family will be received 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. following visitation with Pastor Ron Mohlmaster officiating.

Interment will be Tallmadge Cemetery.
