David L. Johnson, 83, passed away May 29, 2016.  A lifelong resident of North Hill, Dave was a 1950 Graduate of Akron North High School where he was a member of the 1947 State Championship Track Team.  Dave was a U.S. Army Veteran and was retired from Consolidated Freightways after 43 years of dedicated service.  Dave enjoyed organizing his class reunions, Presidential trivia, and watching TV, always with his little dog "Angel" by his side!

Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Estelle; his brother, "Sharky"; and his daughter, Frances.  Dave is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bernette; and his son, David.

A very special "thank you" to the staff of the Acute Palliative Care Unit at Akron City Hospital:  You are an amazing group of caring professionals.  A private service is planned.  Thanks to all who have sent notes of encouragement:  You truly brightened Dave's final days.
