David A. Sipe, 83, passed away June 18, 2016. Born on Christmas Day in Akron, he spent many years at Portage Lakes.
He graduated from West High and was a machinist by trade. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a sports enthusiast and avid pool player and was inducted in the Greater Canton Pool Hall of Fame in 2009. He also enjoyed bowling, golf and water skiing. In his later years you could find him riding his scooter around town and having coffee with his friends and buying lotto tickets at Giant Eagle.
David is survived by his daughter Renee Sipe of Florida; son, Joshua Sipe of California; sisters, Marguerite (John) Stolfo, Sarah Ann (Frank) Hagenbush; brothers, James (Mary) Sipe, Paul (Glenda) Sipe; grandchildren, Justin and Cameron Potter, Ethan Sipe; many nieces and nephews; good friend and former wife Corrine Sipe.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff of Summa Hospital and Pebble Creek for their kindness and support.
Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at Ohio Western Reserve Veterans Cemetery, where Honor Guard ceremony with the Wadsworth VFW Post #1090 and American Legion of Wadsworth #170.
