Deborah Jennie (Glisic) Ashelman

September 11, 1957 — February 10, 2023

Akron

Deborah Jennie Ashelman (Glisic), 65, passed away Friday, February 10th, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on September 11th, 1957, in Akron, Ohio where she'd lived the majority of her life, save for a handful of years in her early 20s, which she spent being sun-kissed in California and Arizona.

Debbie was recently retired, after proudly working for many years at Huntington National Bank (formerly First Merit). Prior to that, she'd worked for the Post Office and Roadway.

Debbie was pure sunshine. She loved many things, but at the top of the list sat her family and her faith in God. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were her entire world. She could always be found smiling and laughing and she made sure that anyone around her was doing the same. Making other people happy made her happy. She loved to sing and dance, play games, and read or listen to books. She also loved animals and nature.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Franklin Dale Ashelman; daughter, Lisa (David Camera) Carano; son, Joseph Ashelman; daughter, Emily (Ashley) Lewis-Ashelman; grandchildren, Hazel, Avery, and Milo; her brother, Michael (Lori) Glisic; sisters, Marianne Manspeaker, Loretta (Joseph) Sanders, and Pamela (Denny) Moran.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Glisic and Ruth Hickman (Glisic).

Debbie found beauty in everything this world had to offer. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was a one of a kind soul and will be dearly missed.

The family would like to invite friends and loved ones to a celebration of life for Debbie, to be held Monday, February 20th at Lifespring Christian Church from 4pm - 7pm, located at 1828 Marigold Ave., in Akron, OH.
