Dennis Martin Stump, 64, slipped into eternity September 3, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dennis received his Bachelors in Business and MBA from the University of Akron followed by his CPA certification. He spent 46 years passionately working in the steel industry. In his early years, he worked at Summit Steel and eventually worked his way through the ranks to become the proud owner of Akron Rebar Company and Cleveland Rebar Company for the last 33 years. The employees of Akron Rebar and Cleveland Rebar worked hard and have an immense impact on its success. As a result of his business expertise, he also owned and operated three other successful companies simultaneously. He also chaired several committees and was president of CRSI, a member of NARSC and ISA. Dennis served as president of the Harbour Homeowners Association in Sandusky for the last 5 ½ years. He enjoyed traveling, relaxing at the lake on weekends (his favorite retreat), Jimmy Buffet, Zac Brown, and crossword puzzles. Always one for a good time, he planned accordingly, and enjoyed his winter trips to Florida. We loved to hear about his travel adventures and the great story telling that went with it. He never gave up on the Browns and bled red for Ohio State.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kyle and Eileen Stump.
Dennis is survived by his best friend, soul mate, caretaker and loving wife, Darlene; his twin daughters, Catherine (Brian) Dalton and Cassandra (Andrew) Clements; and the proud Poppa of Derek Carson Dalton, Alexandria Justine Clements, Drew Caden Dalton, and Brooke Nichole Theiss; his sister and two brothers. He will be sadly missed by his best friend and brother in law, Don Wolfe and sister in law, Donna Wolfe, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
As he always said "Don't be sorry it's over, be glad it happened." He will be deeply missed and we will carry him in our hearts forever-your beloved Magpies. Den-my heart is broken, I love you Dar…
