Diane Kay Staszak (Custer)

Diane K. Staszak, age 74, of Tallmadge, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 10, 2026.

Diane was born in Akron, Ohio to John and Margaret Custer. She was a graduate of Kenmore High School and studied at Akron General Hospital earning a diploma in nursing. She dedicated over 40 years of her life to caring for others as a pediatric nurse and surgical nurse clinician at Akron Children’s Hospital, where she touched the lives of countless children and their families. In recognition of her exceptional care and commitment, she was honored with the prestigious Cameos of Caring Award.

Diane’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and Grammy who treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Diane built countless memories and traditions for her family that will be forever remembered. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, sitting around the fire in their beautiful home, cooking and baking delicious foods to share and spending time at the beach with her precious grandchildren each summer.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Steven Staszak; her children, Steven (Arene) Staszak II, Christina (Brent) Hovey, and David (Sarah) Staszak; her cherished grandchildren, Leila, Kiera, Annalise, Steven, Giuliana, Landon, Alaina, and Rocco; her sister Carol (Adam) Esterle; and brother John (Karen) Custer.

Diane will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her. Her legacy of compassion and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2025 at Tallmadge Lutheran Church, 759 East Ave., Tallmadge.

Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Andy Alberts officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Diane for a future Tallmadge High School nursing scholarship in her name. Donations for the scholarship can be mailed to the Tallmadge Foundation (PO Box 62, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278).
