IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dona Martina
(Brantley) Metcalfe
July 16, 1942 – December 10, 2024
Dona Martina Metcalfe, born 7-16-1942, passed away peacefully on 12-10-2024.
Tina was preceded in death by her husband Russell Metcalfe, her parents Dona and Martin Brantley and siblings Jean, Stephen, Judy and Sonya.
She is survived by her daughters Dana Tasich, Julia Brown (Chris) and Cheryl Sweitzer, grandchildren Jamie, Melissa, Paul (Crystal), Tim and Jessica (Tucker), and great grandchildren Mavrick, Abigail, Logan, Parker, Zach, Lily, and Isabelle. She also leaves her brother Sam Brantley (Billie), brother-in-law Tim Metcalfe and sister-in-law Rhae Zimmerman.
She was born in North Carolina and met Russ while he was in the Navy in Virginia Beach. They married and moved to Ohio in 1961. Her first friend in Ohio was Judy Eberly who held a special place in her heart.
She retired from the City of Cuyahoga Falls in 2008. She passed on to her family her love of books and reading, cooking, and baking, gardening where she loved to have her hands in the soil cultivating the earth for her plants and flowers and bird watching with red cardinals being her favorites. She also loved the squirrels that appeared on her porch after dad passed letting her know he was still there with her.
Tina was adored by her friends and family. Many condolences we have received all report how sweet she was and how she will be missed.
We are especially grateful for Cheryl who after dad passed, became her companion, best friend and caretaker. Because of Cheryl we knew we did not have to worry about mom being alone.
