Doris May Nienhius

Doris May Nienhius, 91, passed away September 19, 2015.

Born in Akron on April 9, 1924, Doris had lived in the Akron area all of her life.  She was a life long member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir.  She helped with the mother daughter flower sales and the Women's Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Helen Knight; husband, Wilfred J. "Bill" Nienhius; and brother William Knight.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Patricia Nienhius; sons, Ronald J. Nienhius both of Akron, John P. (Linda) Nienhius of Cuyahoga Falls, and David (Yvonne) Nienhius of Akron; grandchildren, Seth, Nathan, Eryn, Amy, Daniel, Robert, Dennis, Ashlee, James and William; seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor David Nevergall officiating.

Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
