Dorothy J. (Clark) Cassidy

Dorothy J. Cassidy, 96, passed away January 9, 2015.

Born in Kent, Dorothy had lived in Tallmadge area for many years.  She was a retired self-employed hairdresser.  Dorothy volunteered at the American Red Cross where she was a 50 year Safety Instructor, Summit County Detention Center Women's Board, the Arthritis Foundation and was a group swimming instructor at the YWCA in Tallmadge.  She won a gold medal in the Senior Swimming Olympics.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil and her grand-daughter.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Robert (Elaine) Brumbaugh of Tallmadge and Gary Cassidy of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. John Schluep officiating.

Interment will be at Standing Rock Cemetery.
