Douglas A. Fox, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 12, 1937 to Harry A Fox and Elenor J Burlingham (Schneider). He went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2024.
He was preceded in death by step brother, Forrest Burlingham; parents; grandparents, Otto and Anna Fox, William and Jasmine (Witt) Schneider.
Douglas is survived by the love of his life is his wife, Carol (Stetina). They were married in 1960. He loved his children, Victoria L. Fox (Keith Silver) and Ronald E. Fox (Kimberly J.). Equally loved were his grandchildren, Ronnie (Samantha) Fox, James (Macy) Silver, Rachel Fox, Kayla Bologna, and Daniel Bologna.
He attended Grand River Academy, graduated from Folsom High School in California. Doug studied briefly at Case Institute of Technology, and received his BS in Accounting from Kent State University in 1962. He obtained his CPA license in 1970. He started his career in Coopers and Lybrand where he was a Field Audit Supervisor. Doug switched to private practice and served as Executive Financial Controller for Buckeye Biscuit, Babcox Publications, Resource Exploration and Harry C. Lobalzo and Sons.
Doug and Carol enjoyed cruises, boating, dancing, picnics, Our Lady of Victory functions, and watching his grandkids play sports. They volunteered at St Bernard's Church Hot Meal's programs in Akron. He enjoyed football, basketball, softball, bowling, golf (bad), shooting competitions, playing Pool and classic cars. Doug enjoyed coaching little league baseball, and served many years in Scouting.
He was a man of deep faith, a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather, and friend to all.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, from 1p.m. to 2p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge, OH 44278.
Memorial mass will follow visitation at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. Michael Matusz officiating. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge
