Edwin Joseph Ilg,Sr.

Joe, 83, went home to be with Jesus on January 17, 2022.

Born in Tallmadge, Joe had lived in Tallmadge all of his life.  Joe retired in 2003 from North Hand Safety Products with 37 years of service and a second retirement from Marik Spring.  He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and volunteered for the Tallmadge Fire Department from 1975-1981.  He was a member of Faith Family Church.  He loved the water, boating, fishing and old cars.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Allison of 41 years; daughter, Sherrie Armsey of Akron; sons, Edwin J, Ilg, Jr. of Akron, Bernard Ilg of Tallmadge; step sons, Keith (Christina) Hamilton of North Royalton, and Scott Hamilton of Dayton; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Daisy Scalia of Tallmadge; brothers, Eugene Ilg and Lanny (Carol) Ilg both of Tallmadge.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral Service to follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Pancher officiating.

Masks are suggested.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
