Elfrieda S Krister

Elfrieda S. Krister, 94, beloved mother, grandmother, and wife, went to her eternal home on November 23, 2015.

Born in Hamburg, Germany she immigrated to the United States at age 4.  She was one of 12 children and was raised during the great depression.  She graduated from West Tech High School in Cleveland and worked as an executive secretary.

"Freddie" married Art on June 28, 1952.  She retired to devote her life to being a wife and mother.  She enjoyed reading, quilting, traveling, and wintering in Melbourne Beach, FLA.

Freddie was preceded in death by her husband, Art; her parents, Henry and Margaret Wendt; and 10 of her siblings.

She is survived by her sister, Irma Miller; son, Robert A. (Christina) Krister; daughter, Laura E. Krister; grandchildren Kaitlin (Ben) Schrock and Kyle Krister, and James and Abigail Lazarcik plus many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Calling hours are from 10-11 am Friday, December 4, 2015 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 915 N. Main Street, Akron, Ohio.  A memorial service will begin at 11 am with Rev Joan Ishibashi and Chaplain Diane Walker officiating.
