Eli Henry Maravich

Eli Henry Maravich, 87, Passed away October 29, 2025. Born in Kirwan Heights, Collier Township Pennsylvania,

Eli lived most of his life in Mogadore Ohio. At Mogadore High School he was an accomplished athlete, playing football, baseball, basketball and was a record holder in long jump and high jump in track. He attended Akron University on a football scholarship and was a member of the Lone Star fraternity. Eli enjoyed fishing and golf, most recently participating in the Stark County Seniors League. He is a US Army veteran.

Eli was much loved by his family and friends. He was a kind, gentle man. Eli lived with, cared for and was dedicated to his parents until their passing. He was a loving brother and special uncle to his nieces and nephews who called him, The Great Uncle Eli, and he even had a nephew named for him.  He looked forward to attending their sports events, dance performances, symphony performances, parties, and graduations.

He enjoyed barbecues, swimming and desserts at Mike and Bonnies, and going to Columbus for German food with Ray and Kay.  Eli loved visiting and golfing with his nephew Michael in California and North Carolina, visiting nephew Steve's family in Columbus, and going to Stacy's family home for dinners and holidays. Always the designated meat carver he was even beloved by the family dogs.

Eli was preceeded in death by his parents, Anna and Alex.

He is survived by brothers, Ray (Kay), and Michael (Bonnie), niece Stacy Maravich Wood (Eric), Nephews Steven (Cindy), and Michael, great niece, Addison, great nephews Brandon (Rylee), Caiden, Eli and Newell, and great – great nephew Walker.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, November 14th from 3:00-5:00 at the Russel M. Pry Community Center, 3857 Mogadore Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260.  All are welcome to attend.

We thank Sanctuary Grande for the excellent care he received and Absolute Hospice who made his final days peaceful and pain free.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Mogadore Alumni Association or The Mogadore Athletic Boosters.
