Eliseus (Al) Ficarra, 82, passed away March 1, 2015 our precious husband, father, grandfather, and brother is rejoicing in the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ.
Born in Portland, New York, Al had lived most of his life in Tallmadge. He graduated from Hower Vocational High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Army. Al retired in 1991 from Ford Motor Company with 36 years of service and was a member of Akron Springfield Assembly of God. He greatly enjoyed his family, church, friends, hiking, biking, golfing, and volunteering at Haven of Rest and helping wherever he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Angela; first wife, Carol.
Al is survived by his wife, Melinda; daughters, Kathy Porter, Diana (Fred) Borsuk both of Hinckley, Nicole (Michael) Green of Stow; sons, Mark Ficarra of Cuyahoga Falls and his fiancé Renae Moneypenney, Alan (Mary) Bryant of Jackson Township, and Jeffrey (Shannon) Bryant of Mogadore; grandchildren, Nathan, Freddie, Morgan, Meagan, Ryan, Christian, Alexis, Adam, Joey, Kyle, Anna, Aidan, Abigail, Jude, and Ivy; sisters, Theresa (Earl) Jordan of Tallmadge and Mary Conte of Seminole, Florida.
Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Springfield Assembly of God, 1551 Canton Rd., Akron with Rev. Joseph Serbin officiating.
Interment will be held at Tallmadge Cemetery.
