"Together Again"

Ellwood J. "Woody" Pastoria, 93, passed away November 6, 2017.  Born in Detroit September 28, 1924, as a child he moved to Akron living next door to his future wife of 57 years.  They grew up together, fell in love, married and had two beautiful children. Woody served in the Navy during WWII then again in the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Pastoria and his son, Joseph Pastoria.  Woody is survived by his daughter, Barbara (George) Powell; brother, Duke Pastoria; grandchildren, Mike (Nancy) Wahl, Christopher Wahl, Shelly Hardy (Jim Kluter), Angela (Brian) Brodie, Joseph (Karyn) Pastoria; great grandchildren, Michael Wahl, Joseph Wahl, Ryan (Daniela) Brodie, Anthony Wahl, Lauren Brodie, Joshua (Kristin) Pastoria, Elizabeth Pastoria, Kayla Pastoria and James Joseph Kluter; great-great granddaughter, Aryana Brodie; cousins, Nick and Tony Fortunato, the LoPiccolo and Wasil families.

He is now at peace.  We are so blessed to have had a great man for such a long portion of our lives.  His strength and endurance through many difficult times is an example for all of us left behind.  Special thanks to the Palliative Care Team at City Hospital for all of their compassion and support.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am Friday at St. Anthony Church, 83 Mosser Pl. Akron.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm  Thursday at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main) 552 N. Main St. Akron.
