Elmer "Al" R. Grimes

Elmer "Al" R. Grimes, 88, passed away March 23, 2018.

Born in Akron, Al had lived in Tallmadge area for most of his life. He served in the Army during World War II with the 11th Division, Paratroopers.  Al was a Barber and an Entrepreneur.  He attended The Chapel.  Al was also an avid golfer.

Elmer is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Jewel; daughters, Deborah (James) Pfeil of North Canton and Terri (John) Yelling of Tallmadge; son, John (Pamela) Grimes of Cuyahoga Falls; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Janice Ghaster and Sue Grimes both of Akron

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Noall.

Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
