Obituary

Emaline (Salem) Bolden, 91, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

Born February 4, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to Massoud and Alice Salem, Emaline graduated from West High School and began working in the offices at the Salem Potato Chip Co., where she met her husband, Leonard Bolden Jr., and spent a loving 57 years together raising a family. Em's gregarious personality led her to join the family business at Advertising Supply Co., where she loved her job as a salesperson, calling on and helping customers throughout the Akron area. A lifelong, active member of St. Joseph Melkite Catholic Church, Emaline was also instrumental in developing and administrating the College Scholarship Fund for the United Saghbine Society. Emaline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Len; and Sister Gerrie Niam. Em will be sadly missed by her sons, Len III, and Bruce (Desiree); grandchildren, Caitlin and Ian; brothers, Paul Salem, and Ed Salem of Las Vegas; and many loving family and friends.  Strong in her beliefs, Emaline always put her family first, cherishing family meals and time spent together; she never met a stranger, and will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at Rockynol and Summa Hospice for the loving care they gave Emaline over the past year. The family will receive friends Monday, October 1, from 4 to 7 pm at Hennessy Funeral Home, 552 N. Main St., Akron (corner of York and Main). Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 2, at 11 am at St. Joseph Melkite Catholic Church. Private burial will be at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
