Ernest Junior Giles, 87, of Uniontown, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on February 24, 2017 in Florida. Born in Akron on November 22, 1929, Ernie was one of Maude and Earnest Giles' eleven children.
Ernie was an entrepreneur who owned and operated several local businesses for many years. He attended Central Hower High School and, as a man of God, he was an active member of Southeast Church of the Nazarene for 29 years. Ernie was also an avid woodworker and enjoyed spending time with his family. Many will remember his sparkling blue eyes and contagious smile.
Ernie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Emagene Elaine Giles; son, Brian L. Giles; daughter, Lori A. Trusso; and daughter-in-law, Sue A. Giles.
He is survived by sons, Ernest R. Giles of Pottsboro, Texas, David M. (Cindy) Giles of Kent; daughters, Linda J. (Russ) Heiser of Green, Kathleen E. (David) Gilson of Hartville, Sandra L. (Daniel) Collins of Uniontown; son-in-law, Bill Trusso of Kent; 18 grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Inez VanBuskirk, Doris Mosholder, Jan Hazlett, Barb (Howard) Murray, and Carol Hibbs; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Southeast Church of the Nazarene, 771 Dunbar Rd., Tallmadge, Ohio 44278 with Rev. Steve Salyers, Rev. Russ Heiser, and Rev. Lennie McKinney officiating. Interment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to Southeast Church of the Nazarene.
