Eugene "Red" Cochrane

Eugene "Red" Cochrane, 81, passed away September 13, 2017. Born in Akron, he lived in Tallmadge most of his life.

He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, a journeymen plasterer & retired from Cochrane Drywall and Plastering in 2000. He was part of the Plasters Union for 60 years and attended The Chapel in Akron, Ohio. Eugene was an avid ball player and enjoyed playing Basketball the most (high school captain).  He played softball all the way up to the age of 68  and was part of  the Senior Olympics in St. George, Utah. Anyone who knew Gene knew he loved his sports even the ones he did not play . He loved the Cavs, Indians and Browns. (Browns season pass holder for 30 years and rarely missed a game).

He was an even bigger fan of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren when they played sports. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Nanci in their RV and loved  spending time with his family. He truly lived a gentlemen's life and even strangers who met him for minutes at a time would pronounce to his family " Red is such a nice guy! "  A good life leaves behind seeds that keep on growing and his love of family and friends will live on as a wonderful legacy to the happy full life he lived here on earth .

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Edith Cochrane; son, Kevin; sisters, Dorothy Morris, Mary Mullet, Pauline Ventimiglia; brothers, Warren, Charles Raymond, James, Herbert, Gordon, Daniel.

Eugene is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 60 years Nanci; daughters, Kim (Tim) Pemberton of Kent, Diane Olson of Akron, Tracey (Sam) Williams of Tallmadge; son, Mick (Adriano) Cochrane of Cleveland; brother, David Cochrane; grandchildren, Melissa, Joshua, Ashley, Cory, Adam, Allisha, Alyssa, Kevin, Michael, Anthony, Nicolette, Alex; great grandchildren, Meriah, Jonathon, Haley, Mikey, Eli; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Donovan Funeral Home with Pastor Isaac Van Epps officiating.
