Together Again
Eva Oberlin passed from this life to the next on April 9, 2018.  She was born in Akron, Ohio to Lee and Rose Karam.  She was the second of 5 girls. She is preceded by her parents, Lee and Rose; her husband, Bob; and her sister, Betty.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy, and her son-in–law, Joe Kelley, of whom she dearly loved. She is also survived by her sisters, Phyllis Harris, Mary (Hank) Caruso, and Karen (Louis) Gage. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew and Diana Kelley; great-granddaughter, Lilly Marie Kelley; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Eva met Bob on a blind date. They married on her birthday, June 11, 1949. They lived in St. Louis for a while before returning to Akron. Eva started out as a housewife. She wanted to have a career, so she started working for Merle Norman Cosmetics. She became trained as a makeup artist. She left Merle Norman to work in Polsky's Salon. She worked for a couple of different makeup lines, the most notable being Adriene  Arpel. While working for Adriene, she started doing spa treatments. She also traveled to other salons, including Canada, being a guest artist promoting the line. She eventually became a manicurist as well.
She retired to care for her Mother as she was ill from cancer.
She was an active member of St. Joseph Melkite Church for 63 years, until she was no longer physically able.
Funeral Services will be at 11 am, Monday, at St. Joseph Melkite Church, 600 W. Exchange St., Akron.  Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.  Friends will be received from 2 to 5 pm, Sunday, at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main) 552 N. Main St. Akron.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph Melkite Church.
