Evelyn Sue Bohannon

Evelyn Sue Bohannon, age 85, passed away on June 2, 2024.She was born in Honaker, Virginia. After graduating from Big Creek High School in Bartley, West Virginia, in 1957 she moved to Akron. She retired from the University of Akron in 2000 as an Immigration Specialist in the International Programs department. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards with her friends, drinking wine, watching westerns- but most of all, being a mom.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Bohannon; mother, Vertie Dye; father, Clayton Dye; and sisters, Phyllis Bowling and Wanda Barker.

She is survived by son, Mark (Maria) of Michigan; son Michael of Cuyahoga Falls; granddaughters, Victoria of Texas and Sofia of Kent, sisters Barbara (Rollie) of Virginia; Sandy (Ron) of Virginia; brothers Claude (Judy) of South Carolina and Clay (Carol) of California; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Visitation will be from Noon until 2 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Memorial service immediately following at the funeral home.
