Florence "Flo" M. (Pittman) Cooper

Florence "Flo" M. Cooper, 93, passed away December 17, 2024. She was born in Akron on May 8, 1931, and graduated from Akron East High School.

Flo married Jack Cooper on March 17, 1951, and was married for more than 65 years until his passing in 2016. Flo and Jack moved to Tallmadge in 1964 where they raised their 6 children. She spent her entire life giving her time to provide for those less fortunate. Her membership at the Tallmadge United Methodist Church saw her involved in many opportunities to help others. Her largest contribution to her church was her vision with their annual 'rummage sale' which Flo started, and others continue to carry on today.

She was a very humble person and never wanted any acknowledgement or anyone saying thanks for all that she did. Flo never needed to be asked to help. She made sure that the kitchen table in their home was the largest in the city to make sure our large family could all sit at one place. There was always a TV nearby in case there was a game going on with her beloved Cavaliers and her guy, Darius Garland.

Flo was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents, Lena and Winfrey Pittman; sons, Michael Cooper, Steven Cooper and Richard Cooper.

Flo is survived by her brother, Albert of Walhalla, SC; sons, Donald (Julie) Cooper of Tallmadge and Douglas Cooper of Canton; daughter, Cathleen Cooper of North Canton; grandchildren, Kelly (Travis) Hartong of Charleston, SC, Julie (Adam) Bozic of Tallmadge, Brian Cooper of Stow, Lilly Cooper of Columbus, Hayden Cooper of Canton and Alexandria Cooper of Canton; great grandchildren, Emma, Ella, A.J., Porter and Wyatt.

There will be a private service held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
