Frances Rose Mallardi (nee Tinaglia), 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 2, 2016.

Frances was born on April 9th, 1930 in Akron, Ohio, where she has been a lifelong resident. Frances was a South High School graduate. Frances was very active during her life. She had worked at Ohio Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator, and sang in their choir for ten years. She also worked at Spiegel Catalogue for ten years, and her last occupation was at Giant Eagle for 14 years.

Along with the numerous jobs, Frances was involved in many clubs and organizations. She was a member of St. Monica, The Sicilian Club, Sons of Italy Akron Lodge #685 for 35+ years, Secretary of The Grand Lodge, and The Italian American Council. She also attended St. Anthony of Padua Church in Akron. Frances will be remembered for her sense of humor, cooking, participation in various Italian clubs and organizations, and love of family.

Frances was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Anna Tinaglia; son, Daniel "Danny Joe" Mallardi, and former husband Richard Mallardi. Frances leaves behind many loved ones. She is survived by daughter-in law, Gidget Mallardi; granddaughter, Chloe (Mark) Derus; many first cousins, great-great cousins, and cousins who live-in Sicily; nieces, nephews and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Church, 83 Mosser Pl., Akron. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sons of Italy Akon Lodge #685 – Scholarship, or St. Anthony of Padua Church.
