Gary Michael DiCeglio passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2018. Born on April 2, 1952 he was a lifetime resident of Akron, OH. He graduated from Hower High School in 1970 and began working for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Gary put himself through law school and graduated Cum Laud. After graduation he began a private law practice and became Division Chairman with United Rubber Workers. He joined Ohio AFL-CIO as Director of Compensation and Safety. He ended his legal career with being the Industrial Commission Chairperson from 2007-2013.
Gary is survived by his mother, Connie DiCeglio; daughters, Julie (Doug) Yanky and Michelle (Teena) DiCeglio; grandchildren, Kayla, Nick and Dyson Yanky; sisters, Joyce (John) Bowers and Carol DiCeglio, nieces, Kelly (Pat) Stewart and Lisa Faruggia; nephew, Joe Bowers; and great nephew, Patrick Stewart. He will be greatly missed by his lifelong friend, Mike Flasco and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, the greatest man whoever lived. Joe DiCeglio; many aunts and uncles of whom he had many fond memories. Despite all of his accomplishments, Gary maintained a humble and modest personality. He was always there to help family and friends with household repairs.
Gary donated to many charities - Saint Jude being especially important to him. He enjoyed cigars, golf and boating. He was looking forward to time on the lake with his grandchildren this summer.
