Gene Edward Riggin

Gene Edward Riggin passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, surrounded by his family. Gene enjoyed spending time with his seven grandchildren, Diandra (Brandon), Michael (Kristy), Gina (Julie), Phillip (Stephanie), Kendra, Brooke, and Alexandra, and seven great grandchildren, Madison Marie, Peyton Bailey, Leo Taylor, Luca Taylor, Amelia Marie, Vera Lauren and Phillip Gene. He leaves behind Beverly, his wife of 68 years, his daughters, Paula Henry, Lori (Tom) Leonardi, Kim (Phil) Polefrone and Kelly Holloway of Texas.

Gene served in the Marine Corps and was part owner of Hays and Riggin Builders and Circle Builders in Tallmadge, Ohio. He was owner of Orchard Construction and worked many years at Carter-Jones Lumber Company. He was semi-retired as the zoning inspector for the City of Tallmadge and formed many friendships throughout the community. His favorite vacation spot was Clearwater Beach, FL, where he vacationed for many years with his family.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 13, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle)

Funeral service will follow visitation at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Daniel Doty officiating.
