Geneva "Genny" Schaber passed away April 1, 2022 at the age of 89.

A lifelong resident of Akron she retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after a long career. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, gambling and spending time with family.

Genny was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Robert Schaber, two daughters Therese Schaber and Rita Schaber. Brother Robert Harmon and sister Cenora Hartman.

Genny is survived by daughters Mary (Brett) Hume, Denise (Pete) McCumbers, Diane Schaber and son Robert Schaber. Grandchildren Cory (Stephanie) Hume, Amanda (Joe) Stevens, Brigette Hume, Bryan (Leanna) Hume, Ashley (Ben) Hoover, Gary (Lauren) Hume. Great-grandchildren Owen, Brynlee, Dominic, Tyler, Bailey, Olivia, Jordyn, and Wesley. Sister Marie Geisinger, sister-in-laws Ann Schaber, Ruth Schaber, Stephanie Harmon, and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Thursday at Blessed Trinity Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave. Akron.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main) 552 N. Main St. Akron.
