George J Laktash

George J Laktash, 73, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2023. He was greeted at the Pearly Gates by his Mom and Dad, George and Margery Laktash; brother, Mike(Susie) Laktash; wife, Darlene Laktash-Breth; and numerous other family members, friends and pets.

He was born in Lima, Ohio, grew up in East Akron where he graduated from Hower Trade School, Class of '68. He worked and played softball with his Dad for the R.C.A Rubber Co. and Croatian Club. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing and betting on horses at Northfield Park. In his later years he loved playing (gambling) shut the box, penny drop and dominoes with his family. He would also press his luck at Keno with his extended family at the On Tap in Cuyahoga Falls. He was a one of a kind ornery character...and pretty good at drinking beer. Always made people laugh.

George is survived by son, George V Laktash; daughter, Lisa Laktash-Savcic (Stebo); Brother, Tony Laktash (Sandy); ex-wife/friend, Vikki Motil (Mark); his beloved Grand-fur-babies, Roars, Chubbs, Anya; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations of food and bedding for dogs and cats at the celebration of life service, to be announced at a later date on Facebook. All items donated will go the One of A Kind Pet Rescue.
