George Tebcherani

George Naim Tebcherani, 86, was called home on December 13, 2021 after a brief illness.

George was born January 26, 1935 in Kab-Elias, Lebanon.  In 1969 he immigrated to the United States, his wife and children followed a year later.  As a young man, George was trained as a tailor, he worked in men's suits for JC Penney, where he retired after 33 years.  He crafted a good life for his family one stitch at a time.  George's warm smile, sense of humor and story telling made him friends everywhere he went.  He was an avid gardener always outside tinkering in his yard.  George's faith was very important to him it was the foundation of how he lived his life.  He was an active member of St. George Orthodox Church for over 52 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, of 33 years, Marie Georgette; his parents, Naim and Matilda; siblings, Georgette, Milhem, Mikhael, Sabeh and Simon.

George is survived by his son, Elie; daughters, Golda, Fadia (Richard) Iannacchione, Najat and Matilda; partner of over 25 years, Lucy Watkins; grandchildren, Craig (Miranda) Iannacchione, Jason Iannacchione; great granddaughter, Charlotte, and many more family, friends, and relatives.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021 at St. George Orthodox Church, 3204 Ridgewood Rd., Akron.

Funeral Service to follow visitation at 12 p.m. on Friday with Rev. Father John Alassaf officiating.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. George Orthodox Church.
