Gerald "Jerry" H Knapp

Gerald "Jerry" H. Knapp, 81, passed away April 7, 2025. Born in Suffield, Ohio, he lived in Kent for 13 years, Malvern 34 years, and moved to Louisville 7 years ago. He also wintered many years in Arizona.

Jerry worked at GenCorp as a chemical engineer, auditor and a consultant. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Randolph, and the Elks Lodge. He was an avid golfer and an all around good athlete. Jerry graduated from Ohio University with a degree in chemical engineering and received his MBA from Kent State.

He was a wonderful husband, father, friend, and confidant. Jerry's strong sense of humor and good nature lit up the lives of all who knew him. His personal faith in Jesus Christ was exemplified in everything he did.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Edith Knapp; and brother, Bill Knapp.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 1⁄2 years, Nancy; daughters, Tricia (Eric) Lloyd of Munroe Falls, Traci Knapp of Louisville; sisters, Dolores (John) Fogt of Athens, Marjorie Keith of Tallmadge, Mary (Karen) Knapp of Uniontown; brothers, Donald (Rafie) Knapp of Palm Springs, CA, Clem (Rose) Knapp of Akron, Tom (Vicki) Knapp of Mogadore; sister in law, Diana Knapp; grandchildren, Brianna (Joe) Ciryak of Medina, Jessica (Mike) Hakim of Wooster, Eric (Liz) Lloyd, Marianne (Alex) Garey, Sarah (Steve) Mitcheff, Hannah (Mike) Jones; 17 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2025 at St. Joseph Parish, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore with Fr. Kevin Bertleff officiating.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
