Gerald Neikirk

Gerald Neikirk, 90, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Born in Hagerstown, Maryland, Gerald had lived in Paden City West Virginia, Tokyo Japan, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Lake Charles Louisiana, and most recently in the Akron Ohio area. He was retired from PPG Industries where he started his career as a Chemical Engineer.

He enjoyed traveling both for work and pleasure, reading, and football.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; brothers, Richard and Edwin Neikirk.

Gerald is survived by his daughter, Stephanie M. (Charles) Neikirk-Epes of Buffalo, NY; son, Bradley K. (Ed Theiss) Neikirk of Akron OH; loving partner Carole Boden of Akron OH; grandson, Forest Wolf Neikirk; step grandchildren, Calder Epes, Hilary (Josh) Oballim, and Robin Epes; step great grandchildren, Andrew and Layla Oballim; sisters, Janet Welch of Wilmington, DE and Mary Louise Melmeck of Oxford, PA.

Memorial service will follow visitation at 1 pm, at the funeral home and will be officiated by Reverend Joe Burkhardt pastor of Wedgewood Methodist Church, Akron OH 44312.
