Many people speak of their faith, but Gerald Sisko, 67, lived his faith every day by being a true servant of the Lord through his everyday actions. A loyal steward of God, Jerry was always so full of joy, and was a quiet, patient soul who embodied the scriptures in the way he loved, worked, and cared for everyone around him.
Born in Akron, OH on February 15, 1958, Dr. Jerry joined his parents, nephew and in-laws in heaven's glory on November 12, 2025. Jerry graduated from Hoban High School, Class of 1976 and The Ohio State University School of Dentistry in 1987, with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He started his career in general dentistry in the West Palm Beach, FL area before moving his family to Tallmadge, Ohio where he eventually began his private practice at Sisko Dentistry.
Although many knew him as a talented dentist, Jerry was a devoted family man foremost. He met his wife, Julie Cevasco Sisko, at a Psalmistry concert at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. They married in 1979 and were the parents to Nicole, Joseph and Jonathon. They also were blessed to be a part of their five grandchildren's lives as well.
Active in both the community and his church, Jerry was generous with his charity and his talents. He graciously and quietly offered his dental services to the clergy, the Faithful Servants organization, and anyone who was in need. Jerry would happily drop everything for anyone in an emergency. His calm demeanor and gentle touch was especially effective with his patients, and he would joke with them while performing even the most meticulous procedures.
Not only an exceptional dentist, Jerry was also very creative. He had a knack for gardening and loved to cook amazing, gourmet meals for his large family and many friends. And he always did the dishes.
Jerry was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Knights of Columbus, Akron Dental Society, Ohio Dental Society, American Dental Society and the Tallmadge Chamber of Commerce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Phyllis Sisko, nephew, Ben, and in-laws, Robert and Loralea Cevasco.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Julie; daughter, Nicole (Daniel) Cochran of Tallmadge; sons, Joseph (Stacie) Sisko of New York, Jonathan Sisko of North Carolina; grandchildren, Caden Sisko, Colella Cochran, Dante Cochran, Anthony Cochran, Esme Sisko; sisters, Marie (Tom) Fallaretta, Joan (Jim) Harris, Pattie (Steve) Bell all of Florida; brothers, Philip (Jeannine) Sisko of Hartville, Mark (Christy) Sisko of Florida; beloved brothers in law, Paul (Chris) Cevasco, Dan (Connie) Cevasco, David (Jan) Cevasco, Mike (Margaret) Cevasco, Kevin (Cathy) Cevasco, Rick (Rita) Cevasco, Mark Cevasco, Scott (Beth) Cevasco; many nieces, nephews, friends, and all his faithful patients and staff at Sisko Dentistry.
