Gertrude (Trudy) M. (Webster) Scherer

Gertrude M. Scherer (Trudy) went to be with Lord Jesus on April 27, 2016. She was 90 years old, and had just celebrated her birthday with a party of many family and friends.

She lived in Tallmadge her whole life, and graduated from Tallmadge High School. Trudy was a lifelong member of Tallmadge United Methodist Church, where she was also a choir member for many years and enjoyed the social activities. She was a special mother of eight children with lots of love and patience. Trudy was especially excited about visiting with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore; mother, Lavinia Webster; loving husband, Robert Scherer; and son, Theodore Scherer.

Gertrude is survived by her children, Robert (Carolyn) Scherer, Kathleen (Richard) Green, Lavinia (Joe) Grecco, Michael (Cindy) Scherer, Wendy (Mike) Tomaiko, John Scherer, James (Gemma) Scherer; grandchildren, Mont, Daniel and Heather Green; Jason and Bridgett Grecco; Rachael Waller, Leah Hill,  Naomi Trowbridge, Hannah Sicong, Esther, Michael, Elizabeth, Lydia Scherer; Martin, Maggie, Michelle, Matthew Tomaiko; Audrianna Scherer; James, Jenny, Allison, Rebecca Scherer; Molly Guisinger, Scott Scherer; 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Visitation will be 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. William Liming, Jr., officiating.

Interment will be held at Tallmadge Cemetery.
