Harry J. Schwaben

September 30, 1942 — August 11, 2018

Harry J. Schwaben, 75, returned to his heavenly home on August 11, 2018. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his life and ultimately gave him peace. Born in Woodfield on September 30, 1942 to the late Harry and Anna Schwaben, he was a resident of Uniontown for the last 12 years. He was immersed in the Christian community that would be his lifelong support from an early age, and attended Northwest Ave Church of Christ.

Harry was blessed with a large and loving family. A devoted husband, Harry married the love of his life, Stanice Lee (Simmons) Schwaben, on June 11, 1965. Together, they raised eight children with patience, discipline, humility and humor.

Known for his work ethic, Harry retired from Roadway in 2006, after 16 years of service. After retiring, Harry enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking, anything mechanical and the Cleveland Indians.

His family and all who knew him celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Creator, and will miss his calming presence, quick wit, and the gentle kindness with which he lived his life.

Harry is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Stanice; his sons Ronald (Alison), John (Christine), and Dennis (Erin); his daughters Karla Bechter, Jan (Jim) Lack, Sheila (Richard) Davis, Dana (Denny) Nolan and Jill (Franny) Wilson; his 21 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Edd (Harriett) and Keith (Michele); many loving nieces and nephews; and good friends, Jim and Lee Hill, Ed and Carol Hutchison. He is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Karen (Simmons) Moore; his son-in-law, Jim Lack; and his parents.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday August 20, 2018 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Baker officiating.

Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore.

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7).
