Helen Platt

July 28, 1926 — December 15, 2018

Helen Platt, loving wife of 68 years to the late Duane Platt, joins the love of her life and began her everlasting life with Jesus on 12/15/18 while surrounded by her family.  A wife, mother, grandmother aunt and friend to many, she had a way of connecting and engaging with whomever she met and made instant friendships. She had a great knack for remembering names and would connect easily with her great sense of humor, enlightening smile, laughs and friendly conversation which demonstrated her deep caring for everyone she met. She was inspirational in her last months as she maintained a positive outlook during some difficult health struggles.

She was proudly a stay at home Mom for much of her life after meeting the love of her life, Duane, while both worked at Peoples Drugstore on Front St. in Cuyahoga Falls.  In addition to her commitment to family she was a volunteer at St. Joseph's school and enjoyed gardening, golfing, walks and shopping at the mall with her sisters Esther and Mary and phone conversations with them and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her cherished and loving husband of 68 years, Duane; parents, Clotilde and Andrew Sarrocco; sisters and brother-in laws, Esther and Sam Morrison, Mary and Andy Malorni; brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Delores Sarrocco.

Helen is survived by daughter, Debbie Huston (Dan); son, Andy Platt (Linda); grandchildren, Stacy Jasper (Mike), Scott Lehman, Amanda Laurich (Matt), Leah Wolosiansky (Bic), Adriana Platt; great grandchildren, Ayden Lehman and Zoey Jasper; niece Linda Richardson (Terry); nephews, Tim Morrison (Val), Jim Malorni and Ray Sarrocco (Kathy); many grand nieces and nephews and many treasured friends from all facets of her life especially Dorothy, Helen and Mary Lois.  She dearly loved her family and friends and will be missed by all.
