Helen Roberts

Helen Roberts, 89, passed away October 7, 2017. Born in Cresap, West Virginia, she lived in the Akron area most of her life surrounded by her wonderful neighbors.

Helen retired after 28 years as head cook with Sommers Elementary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; son, John; parents, John and Dessie Smith.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Roberts of Akron; sons, Victor (Linda) Roberts of Springboro, Andrew Roberts of Akron; brothers, John (Juanita) Smith of Mogadore, James (Gloria) Smith of Canal Fulton; David (Nada) Smith; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Donovan Funeral Home 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and one hour prior to funeral service.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Sean Cannon officiating.

Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery.
