Helena Marie MacBride

Helena M. MacBride, 69, passed away August 1, 2026. Born in Akron, she lived most of her life in the area. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish.

Helena retired in 2002 from Longaberger as a weaver then began working at Sterling Jewelers. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, sewing, cooking, walking in the park; but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Louise Butz; sister, Chris; brothers, Roy and David.

Helena is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck”; daughters, Christie (Joseph) Taras, Brittany MacBride; grandchildren, Lydia, Rosalyn, Constantine, Colette; sister, Vera; brothers, Tom, Jimmy, Charles; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, August, 10, 2026, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. Tallmadge, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave. Akron, OH, with Father Zerucha officiating.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
