Helene Speer, 86, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026. Born in Yugoslavia to the late Wilhelm and Stefanie Kremer. Shortly after coming to the United States, she met the love of her life and married Joe on April 15, 1961 and resided in Tallmadge. Together they built a home full of love and raised four children. They shared 50 years of marriage before Joe passed away in 2011. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory and a beautician for many years.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing word search books, scratch off’s and decorating for the holidays. Her home was always opened to anyone and she loved filling it with family, friends and having pool parties. Her kind heart made everyone feel welcomed and like family.
Her greatest love was her grandkids, never missing a game or any activity they were involved in. She was their number one fan always cheering them on. She was so proud and carried pictures in her wallet showing them off.
Our mom had those beautiful blue eyes and was the most loving, caring, generous lady who will never be replaced. She was such a strong person and showed so much fight and strength especially the last four years. It takes someone special to be a mom but we were truly blessed to have her as our mom.
Helene was preceded in death and reunited again with her husband, Joe; son, Robert (Bob); parents, Wilhelm and Stefanie Kremer; brother, Karl Kremer; brother-in-law, George (Elga) Speer.
Helene is survived by her daughters, Silvia (Steve) Schaefer, Corinna (Dave) Phillips; Rick (Nikki); grandchildren, Nicole (Nick) Engle; Danielle (Mark) Thompson, Zachary (Natalie) Speer, Tyler (Malia) Speer, Taylor (Dylan) Skraba, Hailey Phillips, and Logan Phillips; great grandchildren, Tripp and Sloane Thompson, Everett and Harper Engle, Rowan Speer; sister, Hilda Stoebermann; brother, Willy (Siv) Kremer; sister-in-law, Julie Constatine and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
We would like to thank the staff at Pebble Creek for their compassion and caring for our mom the last four years, especially Kaytlyn who mom loved so much.
