Henry "Hank" Jacoby

Henry "Hank" Jacoby, 92, passed away February 21, 2023.

He was a lifelong resident of the Akron area. Upon graduating from high school, he was accepted in the Goodyear Apprentice Program in 1949 and graduated in 1952. Hank attended night school at Akron University. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952. Hank served in combat during the Korean conflict directing artillery fire. Upon returning to Goodyear, he was accepted into the Goodyear Engineering Squad program and graduated in 1957. He joined the Tire Test Division, where he was assigned a variety of managerial duties. Hank retired in 1989 after 40 years of service. Hank loved family gatherings and interacting with people, especially with his North Hill buddies. He enjoyed doing computer design work and then building those designs. He longed to be a business man, which led him to start three small businesses in his retirement years. Hank enjoyed participating in sports, especially golf.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joseph and Josephine Jacoby and loving wife, Sharon (More) Jacoby.

Hank is survived by his children, Angela (Tim) Cavanaugh of Copley, Don (Robin) Rinehart of Virginia; granddaughter, Leah Cavanaugh; grandsons, Casey and Kyle; sisters, Pauline Capretta, Virginia (Tony) Andriette, Joann Trego; step children, Bridget (Chris) Frederick of Elyria, Tim (Gail) More, Shannon (Jenifer) More both of Randolph, Shane More of Madison; step grandchildren, Joe (Carmen), Rick, Jacqui (Chris), Kirk, Karie, Nikki, Andy, Kyleigh, Kelsey and Kerrie; many extended family, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday February 24, 2023 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge with Father Mike Matusz officiating. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge/.

Private interment will take place at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Peninsula.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Hank's name can be made to Our Lady of Victory Church.
