Barbara (Carden) Stevenor  June 2, 1933 ~ June 10, 2024

Barbara (Carden) Stevenor, 91, loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 just days after her soulmate, Howard Stevenor, 89, loving father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024.  They have joined each other in eternal peace after 66 years of marriage.

Barbara was born to the late Minnie and Charles Carden and Howard was born to the late Florence and Arthur Stevenor.  Both spent their lives in Ohio until they became Florida snowbirds after Howard's retirement.  They also enjoyed making memories with their children at their cabin in Tidioute, Pennsylvania.

The couple met while working at Acme.  They married on May 17, 1958 despite Barbara declaring in her high school yearbook to "never make the same mistake that most people do (by getting married)."

Barbara was a fun spirited homemaker that enjoyed gardening, walks, and spending time with her cherished sisters.  Howard took pride in his many professions and hobbies.  He retired as a lieutenant from the Akron City Fire Department and enjoyed filling his home with antiques that he refinished.

In addition to their parents, the couple was preceded in death by their granddaughters, Faith and Victoria Fuller.  Barbara was preceded in death by her 9 siblings and Howard was preceded in death by his 5 siblings.

The couple are survived by their daughters, Lori (Ike) Fuller, Kathy (Tom) O'Neil; son, Scott (Kim) Stevenor; grandchildren, Amanda (Andrew) Courtney, Rachel (Eric) Cooke, Allison Fuller, Paige (Joey) Zimmerman, Justin and Joshua Stevenor; great-grandchildren, Theodore, Maxwell, and Eloise Courtney.  Barbara is survived by her sister, Betty Leppert.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care provided to their parents at Maplewood Senior Living and Tallmadge Health and Rehab.

Graveside services will be at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
