Jack Macchiarella

Jack Macchiarella, 67, passed away May 31, 2016.

Born in Ficarazzia, Italy, Jack has lived most of his life in the Akron area.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.  Jack retired in 2004 from Erie Insurance Company with over 40 years of service.  He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.  He enjoyed his family and friends especially at Christmas and collected toy soldiers and loved to travel.

He was preceded in death by his father, Santo Macchiarella and sister, Angela.

Jack is survived by his wife, Maria; daughter, Andrea Macchiarella of Lakewood; son, John Macchiarella of Hudson; mother, Josephine Macchiarella; sister, Paula (Glenda Dickerhoof ) Macchiarella of  Suffield; sister in law, Annette (Larry) Foster-Green; nephews, Keith, Michael, Mark (Jess) Foster.

Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home, 339 Southwest Ave., Tallmadge.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at St. Anthony Parish, 83 Mosser Place, Akron with Father Pete Colletti officiating.

Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 10:30 on Wednesday June 8, 2016.
