James "Jim" Jones

James "Jim" Jones, 86, passed away March 4, 2025.Born in Rendville, Ohio, he lived most of his life in Tallmadge.

Jim served in the U.S. Marines and retired as an auditor for Roadway Express.  He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge. Jim loved playing golf and playing cards. He was a huge Cleveland sports fan and lived for the NFL draft. He was also an avid Ohio State football fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leona Jones; sister, Mildred Cales; brothers, Delmar Alfman and Eugene Jones.

Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara; daughter, Terri Weigand; sons, Jim Jones, Craig (Lisa) Jones; sister, Naomi (Chet) Cales; grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Olivia, Liana; six great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Summa Hospice nurses, Andy, Joann and Don.

Visitation will be 11:00 until 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will follow visitation at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
