James A. Kelly passed away March 24, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 9, 1946 in Macon, Georgia and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 40 years.
He proudly served as a sergeant in the U. S. Army. Jim was employed as general manager and purchasing agent for Austin Tape and Label for 31 years, loved his job and continued to work, never retiring. He was a 32nd degree mason, member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Akron, Star Lodge #187 F&AM where he served as Past Master, member of Tadmor Shrine, Mogadore Loyal Order of Moose, and Sons of Herman Fraternity Lodge #10. Jim loved his weekends with Dontino's employees and friends and going dancing with his wife.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mattie Kelly and a sister Patricia Cato.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Anita; children, James B., Bill, Wesley (Dan) Weaver, and Kristina Holt, (Tom); grandchildren, Aimee (Ricky) Lauro, Jessica (Joe) Cotner, Emily, Cory, Tim, Danielle, Kellie, Austin, Brittiany, and Erica; great grandchildren Kaylee, Haylee, Annabell, Connor, Gabby, Daxton, and Jacey; best friend Joe Bailey. Jim is also survived by sisters, Billie Cato, Donna (Mike) Richardson; brothers, John (Patty) Kelly and Tom (Rhonda) Kelly; and sister in law, Marcia (Gary) Zuravel. We would like to thank all family and friends and especially Joe Bailey, Anthony, Frank, and Carlo Maltempi for all they have done on this journey. A special heartfelt thanks to Meg and the other nurses for their special care.
Funeral service 10:30 AM Thursday, March 31, 2016 at First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, 85 Heritage Dr., Tallmadge with Rev Dr. John Schleup officiating.
Interment will be held at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Military rites by Firestone VFW Post #3383 at 12:00 p.m. .
Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the DONOVAN FUNERAL HOME, 17 SOUTHWEST AVE. (On the Historical Tallmadge Circle). Masonic services 7:00 PM Wednesday.
