James Todd Swartz

November 23, 1968 — April 14, 2025

Akron

James "Todd" Swartz, 56, passed away April 14, 2025. Born in Akron, he lived most of his life in Tallmadge and the last 15 years in Portage Lakes.

He was preceded in death by his father, James.

Todd is survived by his daughter, Miranda Swartz; mother, Carole (Bob) Stella; sister, Shelley (Jon) Rollison; and half-siblings Kylie (Burke) Engelhardt and David (Laura) Parke.

Todd had a true gift for carpentry—he was an incredible craftsman who could build or fix just about anything. His talent and creativity showed in everything he touched. He was also incredibly smart, quick-witted, and known for his great sense of humor.

Todd had a lifelong love for animals and was rarely without a pet—whether it was a dog, a cat, or even the occasional bird. He was a big fan of NASCAR and had a deep appreciation for classic rock, especially Van Halen. He loved crab legs, pumpkin pie, good music, and simply spending time with his daughter, friends, and family.

His kindness, humor, and passion for the things he loved will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
