Janet E. Kingan (Morrison), 87, passed away after a long illness on Friday, June 30, 2017, surrounded by her family. Janet was a lifelong resident of Akron, graduating from North High School, working at Ohio Bell, and then moving to Fairlawn to raise her family. She was an active member of Montrose Zion United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Pearl; brother, John; and great-grandson, Brody. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Donald; children, Donna (Kevin) Hylbert and Scot (Lorri); grandchildren, Andrew (Jonelle), David, Samantha, Clay, Scot, and Trent; great-grandchildren, Luke and Jared; brother, Paul; and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Barb, Sue, and Ruth for all of their care. Their kindness will forever be appreciated. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Montrose Zion United Methodist Church (565 N. Cleveland Massillon Rd, Akron, OH) where funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Montrose Zion United Methodist Church or Hospice Care Center (3358 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, Ohio).
