Jay D Carney

Jay D. Carney Jr, 94, passed away April 17, 2026. Born in Homer City, Pennsylvania, he had lived in Tallmadge since 1952.

Jay served with the U.S. Army during Korea. He retired as a pipefitter at General Motors and enjoyed playing horseshoes and badminton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay Sr and Jennie Carney; daughter, Terry Denise; brother, Robert Carney.

Jay is survived by his wife of 73 years, Elvira; sister, Mary Lou Kroft; brother, John (Rebecca) Carney; and many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Gardens.
