Jean Marie (Digby) Freyman

Jean Marie Freyman passed from the presence of her loving family July 13 after a courageous battle with cancer to be united with the love of her life Herbert Freyman.  Today marks the beginning of their eternity together.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and a kind person.  Jean will be dearly missed.

Jean was born to Frederick and Margaret Digby of Tallmadge Ohio.  She graduated from Tallmadge High School class of 1952 and rarely missed her monthly class alumni breakfast.  Upon graduation, Jean worked for Ohio Bell then took time off to raise her four children.  Later in life, she returned to work and had many years of employment with and retiring from Ameritech.  Jean was well known for her planting green thumb and an eye for landscaping beautification.  She and her husband of 60 years, Herb, enjoyed camping and extensive traveling both in and outside the United States; they especially loved to visit the Rockies and Glacier National Park.  She was a long time member of First Congregational Church of Tallmadge.

Jean is survived by her children, Darlene (Rick) Steed, Thomas Freyman, Kathy (David) Morris, Karen Freyman,  grandchildren, Henry Schopper, Herbert (Tracey) Schopper, Daniel (Taylor) Morris and Caitlin Morris, nieces and nephews.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Freyman, parents, Frederick and Margaret Digby, brothers Charles Digby and William Harrison Digby, along with their wives Juanita Digby and Louise Digby, in-laws Leon and Orpha Freyman, sister-in-law Ruth McDonald, and brother-in-law Robert Freyman.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home, 339 Southwest Ave., Tallmadge.

Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Sarah Courtney officiating.

Interment will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park.
