Jean E. Karg (Riley) was born June 5, 1925 passed away March 20, 2025.
She called Akron and Tallmadge home for nearly 100 years and saw many changes in the area landscape. Jean graduated from Sacred Heart Academy class of 1944. She loved playing euchre, spending summers with friends at a cabin on Portage Lakes, and worked at the Summit County Court House.
Jean met the love of her life, Dick, and they were married Oct. 16, 1948. They created a lifetime of wonderful memories together.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard (Dick) Karg; son, Richard Patrick; parents, Madeline and Ralph Riley; sister, Mary Alice Dickey; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Bert Karg; sisters-in-law Catherine Nockengost, Elizabeth Ott, Lucy Manes; brothers-in-law Bill Nockengost, Robert Karg, James Dickey; nieces and nephews, Jimmy Nockengost, Aleta Nockengost, Jim (Pat) Dickey and Bobby Karg.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Chip); son, Tom; grandchildren, Jason, Terresa (John) and Michele; 4 great grandchildren, Harper, Tommy, Presley and Sloan; nieces and nephews Jean, Mary Jane, Sue (Steve), Bill (Jo), Billy, Mary Beth (Nate), Christine (Todd), Mary Catherine (Steve), Joyce, Linda, Cheryl (Mark), Diane (Marty), Buddy (Mary) all of whom she dearly loved.
Calling hours 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge (on The Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2025 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge with Reverend Michael Williamson officiating.
