Joan Theresa (Bloomer) Smarrito

Joan Theresa Smarrito, 88, passed away August 22, 2024. She was born March 12, 1936 in Camden, New Jersey, and had lived in Phoenix before moving to Tallmadge and then to Wellington.

Joan was a devote Catholic and loved sewing, quilting, and making yo-yo's.  Above all else though, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic; parents, Charles and Marie Bloomer; daughter, Theresa; and son, Matthew.

Joan is survived by her four grandsons, Brian (Nichole) Pingon, Daniel Stottlemire, Jason (Courtney) Stottlemire and Steven Smarrito; great grandchildren, Leilah, Jayden, Brody, Easton, Kinsley, Carter, Houston; many friends.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave, Tallmadge with Rev. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
