Joanne Marie (Houger) Gray

Joanne Marie Gray, 79, passed away April 17, 2023. Born in Akron, she lived most of her life in Tallmadge.

Joanne retired as a Secretary from GMAC Financing. She was a greeter for 11 years at the Tallmadge Recreation Center and spent a couple years at Lambert Buick to finish off her career.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.  Her family was her whole life. She enjoyed following her grandkids in all their sports and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was deeply loved by all her friends and relatives, which are too many to mention.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman William Houger and Margaret (MC) Haas; daughter, Tamara Gray; brothers, Norman "Bill" Houger and MC Haas II.

Joanne is survived by her daughter, Dawn Gray; son, Chris Gray; sister, Patricia Mayhew (Tony Mayhew, deceased); grandchildren, Gary Cooley, Jr., Rachaell Gray, Dexter Cooley, Tyler Swisher, Alex Swisher, Christopher A. Gray, Jr.; great grandchildren, Kylie Gray, Eden Cooley and Gary L. Cooley III; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Private Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
