John F. Constantine, 72, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on June 18, 2015 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Grace and his loving sister, Sylvia who we know is waiting for him with open arms at heavens gate.
John is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marylou who was with him every step of the way during his illness. Also his children, John of West Palm Beach, FL, Danny of Portage Lakes, Jennifer (Rob) Tromp of Cuyahoga Falls; sister, Norma (Andy) Lampers of Kentucky; brother in law, Don Montgomery of Cuyahoga Falls; Aunt, Jo Kanios of Akron and two grandchildren who worshipped the ground "Poppy" walked on, Savanna and Grayson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
John retired from Highway Asphalt as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and never missed an Indians, Browns or Cavs game. When he got sick he feared he was running out of "next years" and spent his final weeks hoping for a Cavs championship. John also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren who put a sparkle in his eye even up to his last days with us.
John's family would like to thank Don Montgomery for his unending love and support through his illness, your phone calls and visits meant so much to him. We would also like to thank Keri Wade of Hospice of Summa at Home and Dr. Sameer Mahesh at the Cooper Cancer Center for their compassion and exceptional care.
Family and friends will be received from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home, 339 Southwest Ave., Tallmadge
